Demi Moore, 62, lost the Best Actress Oscar to Mikey Madison, 25, at the 97th Academy Awards on Sunday (March 2). Moore was favored to win for her role in "The Substance," a film exploring the challenges faced by women over 50 in Hollywood. Despite her strong performance, Madison won for her role in "Anora," a film about a sex worker, in what many considered an upset.

According to the New York Times, Moore had been a frontrunner throughout the awards season, winning a Golden Globe, a Critics Choice Award, and a SAG Award for her role. However, her loss at the Oscars sparked discussions about ageism in Hollywood, a central theme of "The Substance."

After the ceremony, Moore was photographed by her daughter, Tallulah Willis, enjoying a bowl of fries, showing her resilience and humor despite the disappointment. The New York Post reported that Moore attended the Vanity Fair Oscar Party with her daughters, wearing a stunning gold Gucci gown.

Despite her loss, Moore graciously applauded Madison's win and was seen giving her a standing ovation. Cosmopolitan highlighted Moore's positive attitude, noting her friendship with Madison and encouraging Hollywood to cast Moore in more roles.
