Actress Michelle Trachtenberg, known for her roles in "Harriet the Spy" and "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," died on February 26 in her Manhattan apartment at the age of 39. The New York City Office of the Chief Medical Examiner confirmed on Wednesday (April 16) that her death was due to complications from diabetes mellitus, a condition affecting blood sugar usage in the body.

Initially, the cause of death was undetermined as Trachtenberg's family, citing religious beliefs, objected to an autopsy. However, the medical examiner's office reached its conclusion after reviewing laboratory test results. Trachtenberg's death was ruled natural, with no suspicion of foul play, as reported by both the Los Angeles Times and CNN.

Trachtenberg began her acting career as a child on Nickelodeon's "The Adventures of Pete & Pete" and gained fame with her role in "Harriet the Spy." She continued to captivate audiences in various roles, including Dawn Summers in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and Georgina Sparks in "Gossip Girl."

Following her passing, many of Trachtenberg's co-stars, including Sarah Michelle Gellar and Blake Lively, shared heartfelt tributes on social media, remembering her as a fiercely loyal friend and talented actress.
