Thousands of families in Macon-Bibb County, Georgia, received fresh fruits and vegetables at a large-scale food distribution event organized by Atrium Health Navicent on Friday (June 21). The drive-thru event, held on Eisenhower Parkway, saw cars lining up for hours as families collected boxes of produce.
Approximately 120,000 pounds of fresh produce were distributed, addressing food insecurity in the county. The event offered a variety of items, including tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and dragon fruit, providing families with a diverse selection of fresh, healthy produce.
