The New York Yankees secured their 14th consecutive victory over the Kansas City Royals with a 7-0 win on Wednesday night (May 27) in Kansas City, Missouri. Gerrit Cole led the charge, striking out 10 batters and allowing just four hits over 6 2/3 innings in his second start since returning from Tommy John surgery. The 35-year-old former Cy Young Award winner threw 79 pitches without issuing a walk, continuing his impressive comeback.

The Yankees' offense was powered by Ben Rice, who drove in three runs, and Ryan McMahon, who hit a two-run homer. Paul Goldschmidt and Aaron Judge also contributed to the scoring, helping New York sweep the Royals for the second time this season. The Yankees have now won 22 of their last 23 series against Kansas City.

Kansas City's Noah Cameron pitched into the sixth inning, allowing two runs on four hits and a walk. The Royals struggled offensively, with their best chance to score coming in the third inning. Michael Massey hit a double, but was thrown out at the plate by Judge following a single by Maikel Garcia.

Looking ahead, Yankees' left-hander Carlos Rodon will start against the Athletics in Sacramento, California, on Friday night. The Royals will begin a three-game series in Texas on Friday, with their starting pitcher yet to be announced.
